NEET PG Counselling 2025: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is expected to begin the NEET PG 2025 counselling process in the third week of October. The complete counselling schedule will soon be available on the official website —> mcc.nic.in.
According to an update shared by the Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) on X (formerly Twitter), the tentative timeline was discussed with officials from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW). Based on that communication, the counselling process is likely to kick off around mid-October 2025.
NEET PG 2025 Counselling Overview
The MCC will publish a detailed schedule outlining the registration process, fee payment, choice filling, choice locking, and other important steps. The NEET PG counselling will take place in four rounds, including a stray vacancy round.
Typically, the Round 1 registration window remains open for over a month, allowing candidates ample time to complete the process. However, registrations for subsequent rounds usually close within seven days.
After paying the registration fee, candidates can select up to three preferred institutes. Once the choice filling process is completed, candidates must lock their choices within a one-day window.
Seat Allotment Process
Once the choices are locked, the MCC takes approximately two days to process and release the seat allotment results on its official portal.
Candidates who receive an allotment must report to the designated medical college with the necessary documents to complete the admission formalities. The colleges then verify the candidates’ credentials, finalize admissions, and share the list of joined students with the committee. Academic sessions are expected to begin shortly after the completion of each counselling round.

To register for counselling:

Go to the “New Registration 2025” option under the “Candidate Activity” section.

Enter your NEET PG roll number, password, and choose the counselling type.

The NEET PG 2025 examination was conducted on August 3, 2025, in a single shift across 1,052 test centres in 301 cities nationwide. Over 2.42 lakh candidates appeared for the exam, making it one of the most competitive medical entrance tests in the country.
